Medical equipment and preparations have become
"strategic" commodities in most countries of the world
now, with the outbreak of the Corona virus in most
countries, especially hand sanitizer.
Can hand sanitizer be made at home? A question asked
by many after they failed to find disinfectant in the
market, due to the high demand for it during
this period.
The American "Fox News" website quoted Manny
Alvarez, a specialist in gynecology and an academic at
New York University's School of Medicine, as saying
that making hand sanitizer at home can involve many
risks, especially if some of the prescriptions presented
on the Internet are followed.
Alvarez provided an easy recipe for making a similar
homemade product, which includes basic ingredients:
alcohol or isopropyl alcohol, aloe vera gel, and some
essential oils such as tea oil or lavender.
He added, "Always be careful with the technique
(from 2 to 1) ... that is, two tablespoons of alcohol and
one tablespoon of aloe vera gel, which will keep the
alcohol content within 60 percent, and this is what is
required."
He continued, "After that, this mixture must be placed
in a clean place, using sterile tools as possible."
